Bandit Activity, Episode 39

The Gigant Woods had a known transport route going through them, but bandits began attacking anything traveling the road. The Guardian Force was called out to investigate, and disguised their Zoids in two cargo containers on the back of a remote-controlled Gustav. Once they were attacked they launched a counter offensive, discovering that the enemy Helcats were far more skilled than they'd expect from run of the mill bandits. They concluded that they were likely hired elites.

After tracking the invisible Zoids through the forest, much to the credit of Thoma's Dibison they found a camp occupied by masked soldiers. As soon as they tried to arrest them they were confronted by Hiltz's Organoid, Ambient, and Hiltz himself. The group only escaped because Fine and Sieg charged recklessly into the situation with a ton of dynamite, creating just enough chaos for everyone, including their enemies, to get back to their Zoids. They fought once again, this time defeating the bulk of the Helcats, then proceeded to the Gigant Ruins.

- Gigant Ruins

Introduction

The true secret of the Gigant Woods are the ruins, hidden deep inside of an old mining cave. The entrance was set inside of a large concave hole in the mountain side, and lead to the ruins within, with no visible sign of human structures on the outside.

- Notable Facts

  • The concept art for the ruins listed the giant pod as containing the Deathpion, an older classic Zoid. It's likely this wasn't actually intended to be that specific Zoid, as it certainly doesn't fit the lore of the ancient scorpions, but it's a funny coincidence.

- History

Ruin Excavation, Episode 39

While the Guardian Force was busy fighting the hired Helcat pilots, Hiltz and Ambient entered the Gigant Ruins. Hiltz had Ambient fuse to the giant pod within, which is implied to have contained the two ancient scorpion Zoid cores. It's said later that Ambient's power was used to fuse the two cores, and by the time the Guardian Force showed up the entire capsule was gone from the ruins. The only thing remaining was a stone carving in the ceiling depicting the Death Saurer surrounded by two scorpions.

- Security Office

Introduction

The key reason that the Guardian Force was called in to this location was because of a transportation route winding through the mountains, which had become the target of numerous 'bandit' attacks. The security office decided to call in additional help.
