Overview:

A medium-scale wolf-type Zoid with roots on Planet Zi. After being restored from a Zoid Core that crash-landed on Earth, it was placed in the Security Department's Special Vehicle Division Section 2, and began training alongside the new Labor, Ingram MK-III.

Named the Metropolitan Police Department Version, the Hunter Wolf is operated as an unmanned drone, moving under the orders of a command vehicle via the ZO Visor attached to its head. Later on the armor on its back, known as the Resonator Cowl was outfitted with Patrol Lamps.

It's said to be lightweight and powerful, with a maximum speed of 260 km/h.

It launches diversionary attacks with shockwaves from the small shockwave cannon, the Howling Gun, mounted on its chest and attacks with its claws and fangs. It also howls to fire ultrasonic waves from the Confuser at the back of its throat, capable of confusing multiple targets at once.

According to researchers, its hidden powers would be revealed if it were operated as a manned unit.

Story

Beginning

Udone Island, a small island about 3.5 km in circumference between Niijima and the Izu Islands, became uninhabited in the late Meiji period. The Soito Shrine located on this island is a mysterious shrine with an unknown deity and a suspicious construction date. In 2023, an investigation was carried out at the shrine.

As a result, a mysterious sphere was discovered underground, beneath the dilapidated building at the shrine. The sphere was much more massive than it first appeared, and it was confirmed to have some kind of active reaction taking place within.

As this no longer fit within the scope of religion or history, the sphere was entrusted to a physical science research institute. On the day of the transfer, the sphere showed a violent reaction, rendering all surrounding observation equipment unusable.

Encounter

Shortly afterwards, a pod fell to Udone Island. It contained the parts to make the sphere (Zoid Core), that'd been sent from Planet Zi into a Zoid. Thus, the sphere became a Zoid.

Furthermore, several Zoids flew to Tokyo, the number one city in Japan, along with the pod, and a gentle symbiosis between humans and Zoids began.

Zoids Special Zone

Initially, there was a tug-of-war between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the national government regarding the treatment of Zoids. The national government wanted to place Zoids under the jurisdiction of the Defense Forces, but the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, partly due to the Zoids being discovered in Niijima, insisted that the Metropolitan Police Department should manage them.

By this time, it'd become widely known that Zoids were intelligent and had no hostility towards humans, and in the end, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, with the help of public opinion opposed the conversion of Zoids into weapons, winning over their supervisory rights.

As a result, a special Zoids district was created in Okutama Town. Since the Okutama Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department's Security Bureau's Special Vehicle Section 2 was located relatively close by, the task of ensuring the safety of the surrounding residents and Zoids was entrusted to the Security Bureau's Special Vehicle Section 2.

Furthermore, because Labors and Zoids were so compatible, they began carrying out Zoids training with Labors, with future collaboration between Labors and Zoids planned, and Zoids were later assigned to the Defense Forces.

203X Year

The symbiosis between humans and Zoids reached a stable period.

However, just as there were military units, there were also organizations that researched the military uses of Zoids and smuggled them into conflict zones around the world. This is the story of such organizations, humans, Labors, and Zoids.
