This guy was announced at an event a while back, but we finally have an official announcement for the AZ-02EX2 Liger Zero Empire Spec. and man does it look gorgeous in these colors! This kit is a T-Spark / TTMall exclusive with pre-orders expected to open in September. Now, in the past, some TT Mall exclusives have appeared on the Kotobukiya US store, but I can't help but notice that this post distinctly mentions it being a domestic release, so we'll have to wait and see.
We now have an official web page for the AZ-12 Geno Breaker, which as usual contains some lovely concept art of the kit, as well as insights into the 3D model! There's tons of additional photos to view. The kit is scheduled to release in March 2026 for 19,800 yen (tax included). Those who order through the Takara Tomy Mall before August 31st will receive five limited postcards. There's a couple of awesome videos for you to check out as well!
On the list of new products we also have an official page for the Shield Liger Bang Special! The page includes some (frankly adorable) concept art and a ton of pictures. This kit is expected to release in March 2026 for 6,600 yen (tax included).
At the end of the Shield Liger video, we got two new announcements, with the first being the RMZ Saber Tiger Raven Special! The first Saber to release is planned to be the Schwarz, so this will be our first 'standard' equipment Saber Tiger.
The even more surprising second reveal was the RMZ Zabat! Zabat has gotten woefully few kits over the years, and its always been a Zoid with some interesting quirks and gimmicks. Seeing how TT will tackle a redesign of this Zoid should be interesting!
We've got an official page for the second Hunter Wolf MPD which more or less rehashes the lore of the first, but includes lots of gorgeous photos of this Zoid. Looks like it'll have blue eyes! The original unit had yellow-green eyes.
The Okinawa illustrations for the Popup Tour have been revealed, featuring an adorable Shield Liger + Blade Liger illustration and more character art. (Organoids in hats!) A second scene features a nice ocean hangout. The tour is starting to wrap up, but it was such a fun event to follow.
We're getting yet another themed Zoids crate, this time based on the Zenebas Empire! For those who've missed the others, these are quite literally plastic crates. They have no contents, but are instead storage containers intended for storing your Zoids or other goods, and when not needed can be folded flat for easier storage. The crate is scheduled to release in October for 7,150 yen.
The next couple chapters of the Zoids Battle Story have been added! With just three chapters left to go in this book, this section focuses on the Republic's massive Ultrasaurus, and the Empire's determination to overthrow the giant mech.
Hey, who here remembers the Geno Maxi? That's right, get a small taste of extra Eisen Dragoon lore and learn about some of your favorite early 2000s concept rexes in the most recent Smack Zoids update! For this section I opted to include some of the model stuff because it provided a couple details I found interesting. I'm not sure yet if this'll be included for other updates or not, as it's usually just customization notes like this one.
The first volume of the OJR Zoids Graphics (under Books) has been added! With this volume, I've elected to switch from the reader format to an in-page format like our other books. Originally I'd started with translated images. As novel as this idea is, the Graphics are going to continue to add in story content and materials that I'd like to be able to reference directly without having to include the entire page (such as location images, character images, etc.)
We already provide the pamphlets in both English and Japanese as a courtesy because of how rare-expensive it is to collect them all, but having to provide it in three different formats is a bit much, especially when one of those formats dramatically increases the work time required to make an update happen. That aside, this volume delves into the beginnings of Zoids Lore, with lots of interesting art, so take a look!
Two new pages have been added to the Hobby Japan article, one for 1988 and one for 1990. These pages contain some of the Hobby Japan EX volumes that delve into some interesting customs from back in the day, including original artwork!
The Zoids Index has received a pretty big drop of new profiles, offering a lot of information from Zoids Generations! First and foremost, the index entries for Liger Blue "Souga" and Liger Red "Hiou" have been updated with their full story content now fleshed out. New Index entries have been added for the Hound Soldier KS, Rez Wolf, Rez Tiger, Hebby Rhimos, Bio Raptor, Bio Megaraptor, Bio Tricera, and Iron Kong MKS. These all contain story spoilers, obviously, so be aware if reading!
The Bio Zoids included at this time were included because I consider Generations to be a fairly large media source, and currently do not have any of their Zoids Genesis content (since I haven't begun to cover Genesis yet.) Generations media mentions have also been added to the Brastle Tiger and Wardick entries.
The Character Index is following along with the Zoids Generations update! Profiles have been added for Jin, Ken, Masakuni, Midori, and Raetelme. These profiles contain heavy spoilers for Zoids Generations, of course.
A page has been added for Volume 6 (Japanese version) of the Chaotic Century anime. The DVD info is typically found under the 'Series Information' link. This volume contains 71 unique concept arts for the episodes featured on the disc!
The Zoids Wild model kit section has been updated to include the last of the standard release model kits, covering Senki. Pages have also been added for almost all limited editions, giving basic details of how they were distributed, what events they related to, etc. There's still a few limiteds I need to dig up.
As I mentioned a while ago, I've been going around updating some directories and pages to better work with back-end changes to the site. This resulted in a lot of broken content over the past couple of months. I wanna say that work is now more-or-less complete, unless I've missed something. So, if you notice anything broken around the site, please reach out and let me know! Some changes that've come from this:
Miniatures have been merged into the Action (now Other) Figures page.
Some figure and mini pages have been merged into a single page, if the products only had a few images.
Some old pages with inaccurate names have had the proper names for the product added.
A lot of broken images and links have been fixed. In particular concept art/products in the Index.
Pilot Index updated to use Zoid Index-style layout. Some profiles left unupdated if soon to be replaced.
Most pages should now use the standard layout instead of the old gray bar layout.
Some anime pages left unupdated, to help me keep track of what pages need attention.
Most embedded videos fixed across the site. Media page will be fixed later in another update.
Takara Tomy has, without delay, announced the reveal of the Advanced Zi Geno Breaker, following right on the heels of the Geno Saurer's release! This teaser image references an old announcement in CoroCoro for the Tomy Geno Breaker, which is a fun detail.
Though this is a Saurer with an extra weapons unit, TT has really gone out of their way to make this AZ Breaker something special. For starters, keen eyes may notice that it's modeled after Raven's Geno Breaker from the anime, complete with the white face covering and blue LED eyes. For those who aren't anime-focused, it comes with swappable parts to turn the face cover red and the black Free Round Shield segment to red. Like the old Tomy Breaker, it includes all the pieces you need to make a red AZ Geno Saurer.
The Charged Particle Converter in the backpack spins. The Charged Particle Cannon and core glow red like the Geno Saurer. The arms connecting the Free Round Shield also have a unique piece that, when the shields are stationary at the sides, will actually make the X-Breakers move! It can be disconnected to allow free articulation of the arms for action poses. This is such a cool feature I didn't know I needed, but I'm excited about it. Hybridized articulation-motorization features like this are a dream. The Zoid is currently in the shooting process for its upcoming commercial, and pre-orders are expected to open August 6th!
Zoids Official has posted a teaser for the upcoming RMZ-013 Shield Liger Bang Ver.! We were all surprised that Shield Liger wasn't at the front of production for the RMZ line, but the wait has been well worth it, with lots of features that stand out for this particular Shieldy. First, as the teaser implies, we finally have a Shield Liger that's going to come with an Energy Shield! Though companies have toyed with this notion before, reality often didn't meet expectations, with Kotobukiya, for example, lamenting that in reality a red-pink Energy Shield just looks like a bowl of fruit punch. This style, I think, goes a long way to meeting the expectations, with sweeping action lines instead of trying to make the shape entirely anime accurate. I only wish the included stand for it was clear!
It also comes with the expected Shield Liger weaponry, but another neat fact is that the Missile Arms use a standard 3mm peg! This is a first for the Shieldy, and means that you can attach a variety of Zoid, MSG, etc. parts to the arms for easy customization. The tail uses the anime-specific tip but also comes with an optional beam gun that has a nice, compact look to it. The face and leg armor follows the trend of opening vents as well. Pre-orders are expected to open in August.
The T-Spark label had an exhibit at the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2025 event, where they displayed lots of items, but also sold an event-exclusive Blade Liger Mirage! Though this kit sold for 299 HKD (roughly $38 USD), it was so limited that the second-hand market prices are already quite high. A number of them were raffled off through the Takara Tomy Mall, but this was done through random drawing, rather than direct sale. Rather unfortunate for the rest of us that may want one, but hopefully it'll see more releases going forward. The box seems to vaguely reference the stylings of the old Blade Liger Mirage Kanon Spec. from the old days!
