  Ayame is a kunoichi and student of Tsukamoto, often serving as his messenger. Her Zoid, Eika, is a flying BLOX that can merge with Tsukamoto's Tobizaru, adding additional weapons and augmenting the Zoid's existing equipment. She's often used to relay communications back to other cities and soldiers.  [1]

Chapter 8, Signal

Though Eika was seen carrying out various tasks in the past, such as delivering messages, Ayame herself wasn't mentioned until this point. Until then she'd worked in the Intelligence Department, serving as an aerial pilot for the country of Nakato who performed reconnaissance and intelligence missions. With Zoids gathering from all over the land to face the final battle, Eika was tasked with giving the signal for them to charge into battle.

This fight was no easy task, however. Fog shrouded the battlefield, and the deeper into the volcano they traveled, the worse it got. During this time Ayame helped her allies scout out the paths hidden in the fog, so that reinforcements could find their way back to the battle and not end up isolated.
