Seki's the operator of Jin's Commando Squad, helping to oversee the Zoids as well as their repairs. She's described as calm and serious, and sometimes a little scary when she gets angry, acting as the adult of her unruly group. She is, in a sense, the calming element of the Jin Commando Squad, and was actually the person to encourage Midori to join them on their journey.  [1]

- History

~ Interlude, Childhood

When Seki was a young girl she lived in the capital of Nakato with her family, including her younger sister, Midori. However, when an earthquake struck the capital city their parents were killed, leaving only Seki, three at the time, and her newborn sister as the last remaining descendants from the heroes' bloodline. It was said that only those descended from this bloodline could pilot the Zoids necessary to seal Bio Zoids back in the earth, and if they were both lost, it could mean the end of all life. For this reason, drastic decisions had to be made. Seki was separated from her sister. She remained in the capital, being trained in her mission to someday seal away the Bio Zoids, while Midori was taken to a remote region to be raised in isolation, never permitted to adventure, with the goal being to ensure that the bloodline would continue. They hoped that by doing things this way, that the last remaining descendants could no longer be claimed by the same disaster.

Interlude, Battle of Konan Fort

The first emergence of Bio Zoids in the current generation happened when a swarm, coming down from the river, ran into and attacked Kanan Fort. When Seki heard about it in the capital she and Hiou, along with a number of reinforcements ran to their aid. Hiou, being much faster, arrived far sooner than the reinforcements and confronted the Bio Zoids, forcing Masakuni and his Iron Kong to leave the safety of the city walls to protect them. Though Seki was aware of her sacred task, she insisted that her, and Hiou's true responsibility was to protect everyone from the Bio Zoids. So, there she fought, constantly ducking out of Masakuni's protection to fight Bio Zoids herself until reinforcements arrived.

No sooner than they had, however, did they witness a swarm of flying Bio Zoids heading right towards the capital, forcing them to immediately redirect back to their home city. Though Seki was ordered to stay at the fort with Masakuni, she bursts into tears. Claiming to have heard Hiou's voice, she warned them that it'd been a mistake to take Hiou from the capital. That this was the moment the Bio Zoids were waiting for, and that without Hiou, the city would fall. It was the first time she'd eluded to hearing the voice of her Zoid, and with these unusual circumstances, Gishin withdrew his orders and allowed her to follow.

Though they reached the city and were able to enter its walls, the sacred stage overflowed with Bio Zoids intent on killing the city's guardian Zoid. It was only because of Gishin's sacrifice, along with all those in his unit that Seki was able to reach the stage and perform the sacred ritual dance. The stage was activated, amplifying Hiou's seal on the Bio Zoids, effectively destroying those attacking the city. However, she warned them that this seal would only last for 10 years, at which point, Mother Bio would awaken and the seal would no longer be effective.

Roughly 2 Years Ago, Student Studies

When Seki was still in the capital of Nakato, she was a student studying the electromagnetic waves emitted by Zoids, similar to the pulses of the human body. The purpose of the research was to learn more about them. When a large number of Bio Zoid corpses were discovered near the capital it raised alarm bells, and many researchers and Zoids were sent to the area, including Seki. She took her detector with her and on the third day it locked on to a strange electromagnetic signature, one that was far stronger than those typically emitted by Zoids. She followed this signal until she was stopped by Jin, who had sealed off the area. After being told nobody was allowed without a Zoid escort, she told Jin to escort her, and he agreed, allowing her to board the Rez Wolf.

In the storm she couldn't see a thing, but when they got far enough, the lightning flashed and revealed swarms of Bio Zoids heading their way. Knowing they couldn't escape the Jin Squad stood their ground and fought, but the situation turned ugly when one of their Zoids was injured, and went from bad to worse when the Bio Zoids, as well as their own became immobilized. The powerful electromagnetic waves she'd been tracking were now working against them, coming from a massive cannibalistic Bio Zoid, the Bio Spino. It was responsible for this graveyard, and it started ripping cores out of the immobile Zoids one by one, starting with the Bios.

However, with each flash of lightning, the Zoids regained their movement for a brief moment. Seki realized that this was because the lightning was disrupting the electromagnetic waves. The Jin Squad made a plan to move with each flash, getting closer to the Bio Spino, then to all leap in at once. It was a risky plan reliant on dumb luck, but it was the only shot they had. Jin made Seki get out of the Rez Wolf and hang back, knowing the chances of failure were high. He left with the promise that there'd be no casualties, and as the plan worked, he kept that promise to her. As Seki tells it, he continues to keep that promise until this day.

Chapter 1, A New Friend

Under orders from Nakato, the Jin Commando Squad traveled to Kageri Village to discuss the Bio Zoid problem with Lord Hakukuu. During this time, the group got to know Hakukuu's foster child, Midori, pilot of the Liger Blue. While the Zoids were undergoing repairs from an earlier misunderstanding, Seki and Midori got to talking. It was actually Seki who invited Midori to join their crew, prompting her to travel outside the village for the first time in her life.

Chapter 6, The Battle of Legend

When Jin and the others received communications from Tsukamoto, noting that Midori had gone ahead into the Cursed Forest and that he'd be following her, they rushed to help. They arrived to the battle to find them engaged in combat against the Shinobi Saix, guardian of an ancient temple, and its army of Guystings. Jin interrupted the fight, and Seki introduced herself to the strange mummy that piloted the Shinobi Saix as the one there to fulfill her mission. Though this mummy used its power to see into Seki, to confirm her intentions, it insisted that it also needed the pilot of the Shining Beast. That is, Souga and Midori. It had been Seki's intention to take on these responsibilities herself, but left with no other choice, she asked for Midori's trust. Together, they were invited to pass through the temple doors, which were merely an illusion, to witness the previous war against the Bio Zoids.

In the dazzling light they witnessed the former Shining Beast and Sparkling Beast charging into battle alongside a massive army. They sealed the Bio Zoids away, but as they'd soon learn, with so much time having passed since that battle, the life of the Zoids who'd sealed them had faded. New ones had been born to take their place, and though they were now on the path to the Bio Zoid pit they would still need to find the Sparkling Beast, who'd been reborn in the surrounding mountains.

Chapter 7 ~ 8, The Sparkling Beast

During their first incursion into the volcano, Seki heard the call of the Sparkling Beast. Soon, in the midst of the chaos, a flying Zoid rose out of a pillar of fire and flew into the sky. Seki recognized it immediately as the Zoid partner she'd been searching for. Destined to pilot the Sparkling Beast, she called to it, but the Zoid refused to come down to the ground in fear that its burning-hot armor would light fire to the forest. So, in the air it stayed. Even as they fled the volcano and rested for the night, the Sparkling Beast flew around in the air, waiting for its armor to cool.

When it finally landed in the morning, Seki boarded the Zoid and had it evaluated by Senka, a Zoid doctor, later confirming that it was in good health in spite of living in the magma for so many years. The rest of their free time was spent with Seki flying the Zoid, getting familiar with it. When the time came for the final battle, she flew just above the main group, warned that if they flew too high they'd be targeted by the aerial Bio Zoids.

Soon, however, the fog of the caldera grew too thick. It was then up to Midori and Souga to find the way, but in the fog they heard a voice. One that Seki heard as well. It was the Mother Bio. The Zoid confessed to having created the Reaper as a Zoid specifically designed to kill the Shining Beast. Though Seki couldn't help in the fight, she waited, and when Midori had a moment, she urged her to continue the ritual. Sealing Mother Bio away was their only option. A Zoid that couldn't be killed, if they continued to fight her, would only guarantee casualties. The deaths of their friends. So, Seki piloted the Bright Hawk as it transformed into the Sealing Sword. The sword mentioned in legend had been the Sparkling Beast itself. It was to Sealing Sword of the Shining Beast.

Once wielded by Souga, the Liger's body transformed into a stunning white color, clad in sacred armor, the Shiro Shouzoku. The armor protected them both from the heat rays of the Mother Bio, and when the Sealing Sword was driven into her fierce jaws, the whole group went over the ledge, straight towards the magma at the bottom of the volcano. In a desperate bid to live, Midori and Seki opened their cockpits, and Seki leapt from her Zoid, taking Midori by the hand. She was pulled into Souga's cockpit just in time, and the Liger closed the canopy before they hit the magma. Had it not been for Midori's swift thinking, Seki, too, would have sunk into the magma with the Sparkling Beast, where it was now realized it would remain to keep the Mother Bio sealed. The two girls were able to escape to safety, with Souga swimming back to shore and shaking the magma from his armor.

Future, Return to Nakato

Now that the final battle had been carried out, Seki followed Midori back to Kageri village so that she could report the events to Hakukuu. Afterwards, she planned to return to the capital, now with Midori at her side.

- Notable Facts

  • When Seki was a child, she used to pull on Masakuni's beard every time they met.

- Zoids

Bright Hawk

Seki's unusual Zoid is a Bright Hawk, a modified version of the Hurricane Hawk. For years the Zoid remained sealed in the caldera, its spiked edges keeping Mother Bio from dislodging its binding seal. However, when she awakened once more it became the Sealing Sword used by Shiro Shouzoku to fight the undefeatable Zoid.
