Story Information
Role: Introduction:
  • Zoids Expert
  • Bombardment
Raetelme (or Rätelme) is a strange girl who's traveled throughout various countries. She joined the Jin Commando Squad because of her extensive knowledge of Zoids and promising talents. While she's a major character in Zoids Generations, she also appeared regularly in Dengeki Hobby Magazine as a sort of spokesperson for some of their Zoids First Time Story & Zoids Goods segment. She's described as enjoying poking fun at strangers and never passes up an opportunity to explain a Zoid.  [1]

- Military History

Chapter 3, Distracting The Swarm

When Ken and Midori found themselves surrounded by a Bio Zoid swarm while attempting to save some civilian Zoids, Jin and Raete arrived to fend off the attackers just as they were about to finish off Souga. Raete used the missiles to bombard the immediate area and keep the Bio Zoids confused and disoriented. Combined with Jin threatening them away with his Metal-Zi Sword, the swarm was prompted to find prey elsewhere.

Chapter 4, Assisting Ya Han

Raete, Seki, and Midori witnessed a Zoid battle between members of Ya Han and Bio Zoids. In order to draw the Bio Zoid's attention, Raete drove her Hebby Rhimos into the battle, firing her missiles. It turned out that the group they were saving were from Ya Han, given orders by the king to investigate the emergence of Bio Zoids.

Chapter 5, Fried Rice

When Ken was challenged to a Zoid Fried Rice competition by the mayor of Enya's daughter, Raete and Midori were allowed to join as assistants. Raete connected a giant wok to her Hebby Rhimos, and played the key role in the contest. However, when she saw Shion, her opponent flipping rice into the air to burn off moisture she had the bright idea of calling over a Brastle Tiger to help her do the same. With a breath of flame the tiger promptly burned their rice, losing them the contest.

Chapter 7, Volcano Battle

Raete joined the others as they charged into the volcano of the Tatara Highlands, said to be the origin of the Bio Zoid scourge. When Ken and Midori were confronted by their ultimate enemy, the Mother Bio, she bombarded the slopes of the volcano with missiles. Her goal wasn't to kill the indestructible Zoid, but to steepen the slopes, rolling Mother Bio back to the bottom of the caldera. If they couldn't kill her, the best they could do was to trap her until she could be sealed.

In the mean time, the roar of this enemy brought in countless other Bio Zoids for support. This included aerial targets, which Raete chose to fight with the mace of the Hebby Rhimos, attached to a long chain that she could whip up at her attackers. This worked great until the chain became entangled with one of the Bio Pteras. It took flight, nearly dragging Raete and Seki up to fatal heights before Midori jumped into the air, having Souga climb the Hebby Rhimos and killing the Bio Ptera. Though they survived the fall, the Hebby Rhimos was unable to move and needed to be protected by Ken and Midori while Jin targeted the other dangerous Bio Zoid: The Bio Spino.

Chapter 8, The Final Battle

During the course of the final battle Raete and her Hebby Rhimos provided support to the main group. Even so, she couldn't outright kill many of the Bios, and eventually, the fog got so dense that even fighting her normal way proved difficult. When Mother Bio had finally been sealed, it was Raete who first spoke up in defense of Ken. Now faced with his supposed marriage to Shion, she confirmed that he needed to stay with the Jin Commando Squad and help them defeat the rampant Bio Zoids that had already emerged and were still roaming.

Zoids Saga End, Story Continuation

Japanese Wiki Aniwota offered fan-written explanations of the continued story from Zoids Saga M (please see the disclaimer [2] ). It's said that in this setting Mother Bio, Bio Spino, and the Reaper had all gained the ability to speak. However, when Mother Bio sealed herself away, the Bio Spino was accidentally left awakened. Lost, the Zoid ended up joining up with Raete, becoming her... somewhat friend, somewhat guinea pig companion.

- Notable Facts

  • Raete is noted to poke fun at strangers.

- Zoids

Hebby Rhimos

Raete's main Zoid in Generations is a Hebby Rhimos with a modified mace horn and 5-Shot Missile Pods. Though the Zoid lacks the Metal-Zi to put a final end to Bio Zoids, that's not the only facet of battle, and it provides excellent crowd control for the rest of the party even in the midst of swarms. She has a habit of calling out absolutely nonsense 'special move' names during her attacks.

- Notes

1. All information, unless stated otherwise, is from the character's primarily featured media. If a character exists in both the Battle Story and other medias, the Battle Story will be the main information source.

2. While normally I'd take a hard stance against including any fan-written content on site, I feel that it's reasonable to make special exceptions for cases like this, where we're dealing with a lost media that's likely never going to be recovered in its original context. Though anyone was free to edit the Aniwota wiki pages, I feel that these still offer valuable insights into the stories aired from the perspective of the only people who were able to play during the game's run. So, take these descriptions a huge grain of salt, and view them purely for your own intrigue about the series.
