Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
The Hebby Rhimos is one of several Zoids in the Jin Commando Squad, serving as fire support and a key combatant in their efforts to save Nakato country from the Bio Zoid Swarm. As a two-seater it also carries Raete (its primary pilot) and Seki, who lacks a Zoid.  [1]

- Details of Design

Larger Size

The Hebby Rhimos is a couple sizes bigger than the standard Black Rhimos, about a meter in height. Even so, its been heavily modified by the pilot, with many improvements added, as well as additional weapons, so it weighs significantly more than the standard.

- Military History

Chapter 3, Distracting The Swarm

When Ken and Midori found themselves surrounded by a Bio Zoid swarm while attempting to save some civilian Zoids, Jin and Raete arrived to fend off the attackers just as they were about to finish off Souga. Raete used the missiles to bombard the immediate area and keep the Bio Zoids confused and disoriented. Combined with Jin threatening them away with his Metal-Zi Sword, the swarm was prompted to find food elsewhere.

Chapter 5, Fried Rice

When Ken was challenged to a Zoid Fried Rice competition by the mayor of Enya's daughter, Raete and Midori were allowed to join as assistants. Raete connected a giant wok to her Hebby Rhimos, and played the key role in the contest. However, when she saw Shion, her opponent flipping rice into the air to burn off moisture she had the bright idea of calling over a Brastle Tiger to help her do the same. With a breath of flame the tiger promptly burned their rice, losing them the contest.

Chapter 7, Volcano Battle

Raete joined the others as they charged into the volcano of the Tatara Highlands, said to be the origin of the Bio Zoid scourge. When Ken and Midori were confronted by their ultimate enemy, the Mother Bio, she bombarded the slopes of the volcano with missiles. Her goal wasn't to kill the indestructible Zoid, but to steepen the slopes, rolling Mother Bio back to the bottom of the caldera. If they couldn't kill her, the best they could do is trap her until she could be sealed.

In the mean time, the roar of this enemy brought in countless other Bio Zoids for support. This included aerial targets, which Raete chose to fight with the mace of the Hebby Rhimos, attached to a long chain that she could whip up at her attackers. This worked great until the chain became entangled with one of the Bio Pteras. It took flight, nearly dragging Raete and Seki up to fatal heights before Midori jumped into the air, having Souga climb the Hebby Rhimos and killing the Bio Ptera. Though they survived the fall, the Hebby Rhimos was unable to move and needed to be protected by Ken and Midori while Jin targeted the other dangerous Zoid: The Bio Spino.

- Notable Facts

  • The Hebby Rhimos is said to be a normally calm Zoid, but once enraged, becomes completely unstoppable. That being said, while it seems indifferent to Raete, because she's the only person who can handle its unique equipment it enjoys working with her in a way that allows it to run wild. Seki compares this to "synergy between trigger-happy characters."

  • The Hebby Rhimos is said to have a ton of optional equipment, a lot of it designed by Raete, including a bow gun swappable with the back missile pod and nose units to swap the hammer with. These include a super-hard drill, a launchable anchor, a chain-sickle, and even a giant wok. Much like Raete's non-sensical attack names, however, many of these have questionable reliability and haven't been put to a real test.

- Equipment Information

- AZ 5-Shot Missile Pod ×2

AZ 5-Shot Missile Pod ×2: AZ5連装ミサイルポッド×4

Hebby Rhimos is equipped with two sets of AZ 5-Shot Missile Pods, for a total of 10 concurrent shots each. These are carefully crafted together, and when inactive the missiles are covered by doors that open outwards before firing.

- Super-Hard Assault Hammer

Super-Hard Assault Hammer: 突撃戦用超硬度ハンマー

The Assault Hammer is the large mace on the nose. It can not only be swapped out for various other equipment items but is attached to a chain, allowing it to swing and strike even low-flying aerial enemies. The Zoid also has an Impact Hammer named "Benkei". Because the model kit required the spikes to be replaced with flattened bumps for child safety standards it's unclear if Benkei is meant to be a separate blunt-force weapon or the same thing as the Assault Hammer mace.  [2]
