The shark-type Zoid, the Wardick, launched a torpedo attack from unfathomable depths in the ocean. None of the Republic's surface Zoids could spot the Wardick until it surfaced, let alone retaliate.
The Dimetrodon's radio wave attacks rendered the Republican Army unable to use their radar or radio. In other words, they were deprived of their eyes, ears, and mouths.
The whale Zoid, the Whale Kaiser could quickly and silently transport multiple large Zoids and hundreds of armed soldiers to anywhere in the former Imperial territory. In the night it could even transport large armies hundreds of kilometers into enemy territory.
Even the power of the Ultrasaurus was insufficient to stop the Imperial Army's advance. They drove the Republican Army across the Empire's territory, recapturing the Imperial capital, and finally driving them east of the Central Mountain Range. For the first time in two years, the Empire was back in the hands of Emperor Zenebas.
However, several Republican commando units remained within the borders of imperial territory, fighting against the overwhelmingly superior Imperial Army. They rode specially developed ultra-compact Zoids as freely as horses.
Riding the kangaroo-type Shotodile, the bird-type Kyanossa, the praying mantis-type Kamakira, and the horseshoe crab-type Seabatoras, they continued to plague the Imperial Army in the border regions.
Among this group of fierce commando units, one unit in particular, known as the "Blue Pirates," had their fortress at Skull Rock.

The Blue Pirates appeared like the wind and sent the Imperial Army spinning. They were no match for them in the mountainous regions and forests, and imperial soldiers were extremely afraid to march into the mountains of the border region. Even with the combined strength of the Imperial Army, they were unable to find their hideout.

The Imperial Army's new Zoid, the Sea Panther, was transported to an Imperial base near the border. The Blue Pirates, sensing this, launched a surprise attack on the Imperial base, successfully stealing the Sea Panther.

However, when the Blue Pirates returned to their secret base, Skull Rock, they were met by a large imperial force, led by a large-scale Zoid, the Redhorn. A transmitter had been hidden inside the stolen Sea Panther.
"You've let your guard down, Blue Pirates. You're completely surrounded. Give up and surrender."
The Imperial Army steadily closed in on the Blue Pirates.

At that moment, the Republican Army's stag beetle Zoid, the Double Sworder emerged from Skull Rock. Smoke bombs rained down on the stunned Imperial forces. In an instant, it was impossible to see within even an inch of their faces. The Blue Pirates successfully escaped the encirclement.
"Don't let them get away!"
The Redhorn roared, chasing the Pirates. However, the imperial forces, blinded by rage, were lured into a bottomless swamp the Pirates had created beforehand, and most of their Zoids sank into the mud.

One after another, the Empire Zoids fell into their trap.
"At this rate, we'll all be wiped out. Retreat!"
However, the bridge upon which the last surviving Redhorn now stood was also destroyed by the Double Sworder, sending it plummeting to the bottom of the valley.

"This hideout is no longer any use to us. Let's go back to the Republic."
Having defeated the Imperial army, the Blue Pirates triumphantly returned to the Republic, taking the Sea Panther as a souvenir.
