Ambient

Dub Name: None
Appeared: Episode 35
Rel. Chars: Hiltz (Owner)

Introduction

Ambient is a mysterious red Organoid who appeared in a number of places where Hiltz was sighted, often being associated with violent attacks in the region. Of all the Organoids, he's the one most often depicted performing independent tasks away from his master to help accomplish their goals, often launching attacks and battling on his own.

Abilities & Weapons

 Instant Evolution

Ambient has shown the ability to instantly bring a Zoid to its full potential. While other Organoids have been able to bring out the potential of a Zoid as is, such as Sieg, or be able to 'grow' a Zoid in the same way, such as Specular, Ambient is the only Organoid shown to instantly initiate what appears to be a form of evolution (not just growth) in seconds, introducing additional equipment modifications and color changes in a similar way to the evolutionary coccoons. The most notable case of this is evolving the Gun Sniper WRR into the Toge Sniper. He also evolved the Stealth Viper into the Stealth Viper Giant Spec., similar to how Specular evolved / sized up a Double Sworder.

 Articulated Tail Spikes

Ambient's tail spikes are, for some reason, able to move and flex independently. They're used as weapons in combat.

 Core Fusion

Ambient's power was used to fuse the two ancient scorpion cores together, creating a singular core that would later be used for the Death Stinger.

 Flight

Like all other Organoids Ambient possesses the ability to fly. He does so using two jets on his back that spread out in a fan shape, usually with a red glow.

 Instant Heal & Revival

Most Organoids seem to have the ability to heal. Ambient's capable of not just instantly healing a Zoid, but also instantly reviving it. This was shown off when he instantly revived the Death Stinger. Though it's possible the Zoid wasn't fully dead yet (it was shown turning into stone, being almost entirely covered, but still had a hint of color left), it was definitely in a dying state and revived back to combat condition. Not necessarily new, lacking the power to use its E-Shield or restore its lost limbs, but certainly capable. He was then later able to restore it back to genuinely new condition, restoring its particle cannon and other weapons with a second fusion. Though, this may have been influenced by them being in the light of Zoid Eve.

History

First Appearance, Episode 35

Ambient first appeared in the Wind Colony when Maria Freiheit stumbled into him. She screamed, drawing the attention of Bang Freiheit. As soon as Bang approached, Ambient attacked. Bang was able to hold him off with a knife, and Sieg quickly offered backup, but Ambient retreated upon hearing a whistle.

Immediately after, a Stealth Viper attacked the colony. Bang and his Blade Liger defeated it quickly, but the red Organoid fused to its core, dramatically increasing its length and revitalizing it for another round of combat. Though Ambient was present for this fight, the Stealth Viper was piloted by one of Hiltz's henchmen. As soon as he lost the battle, Ambient defused from the Stealth Viper, taking the pilot with him back to Hiltz. Hiltz, unimpressed by his failure, threw the man over a cliff, presumeably killing him.

The Zoid Hunters, Episode 40

Ambient and Hiltz took out the engines of the Zoid Hunter's Whale King. Up until then the transporter had been used to carry out cruel experimentation on Zoid cores, all of which ended in the death of the cores. The intention had been to create an entirely new type of terrifying Zoid. However, Hiltz deemed this a loose end, and once the group was discovered by the Guardian Force he made sure that the Whale King crashed, taking out all evidence of their operations. Ambient helped him escape the falling aircraft afterwards.

Dragonhead Base Heist, Episode 45

When Mueller and Ralph snuck into Dragonhead Base claiming that they'd been ordered to scramble the two still-in-development Storm Sworder Stealth units, they were busted immediately. Hermann knew that the Zoids couldn't have been ordered out, as they still lacked major combat commands. He held the two intruders at gunpoint until Ambient dropped down from the ceiling, knocking down both Hermann and O'Connell so that the two thieves could steal the incomplete units.

Kidnapping, Episode 48

After Hiltz had kidnapped the president of the Republic, he also faked being injured in the desert. This prompted Thoma, who was searching for the president in his Dibison to stop and investigate. After Thoma was knocked unconscious, Ambient fused to the Dibison, taking control. The president was placed in the cockpit and Ambient left, heading towards the summit meeting where she'd been intending to meet Emperor Rudolph.

Accompanied by a unit of Gun Snipers, Ambient attacked the location. Counterattacking would mean the president's likely demise, leaving Ambient and the Gun Snipers to bombard them with little fear. When Irvine showed up in the new state-of-the-art Lightning Saix, Ambient's entire unit struggled to keep up with its fast movements. It took out the Gun Snipers relatively quickly, and realizing that the battle was reaching an end, Ambient turned the Dibison towards a steep cliff. He intended to drive both the captured Zoid and the president over the ledge, but the Saix was able to get in front of him and shoot one of the Dibison's legs out from under it. With few options left, Ambient abandoned the Dibison and returned to Hiltz's side.

Shenanigans, Episode 50

It was implied by Rease that Ambient had tampered with Raven's Geno Saurer in some capacity, as under normal circumstances it shouldn't have changed from purple to red.

The Toge Sniper, Episode 52

When Bang defeated a unit of remote-controlled Gun Snipers being controlled by Hiltz, Ambient was sent to commandeer one of the Zoids. He instantly evolved the Gun Sniper WRR into the Toge Sniper, a spike-covered variant with new, modified munitions. Now powered by an Organoid, the Gun Sniper was fast enough to evade some of the Liger's attacks, but not fast enough to catch it. In the end he took a hit from the blades, and with the raptor defeated, Ambient returned to Hiltz's side.

Revival of the Death Stinger, Episode 64

After the Death Stinger was fatally wounded by the Gravity Cannon it began to turn to stone, a clear sign that the Zoid was dying. Right before the rest of its life had left it Ambient fused to the core, reviving the dangerous Zoid. Its resurrection wasn't perfect. It was missing some of its limbs, the armor was still severely damaged, and it lacked the use of its energy shield but for such a monstrous Zoid to be revived in the first place was still pretty impressive. It was more than capable of moving and fighting under its own power, and the first thing they did was disable the Ultra Saurus by digging out the ground beneath it so that it'd topple over.

Death Stinger Restoration, Episode 65

During Hiltz's battle against Bang's Liger Hiltz realized that he couldn't turn fast enough to intercept an incoming attack. He called for Ambient's help, and when he fused this time around the Death Stinger was properly restored to its full condition, including fully restoring the particle cannon that it'd lost moments earlier.

Death?, Episode 3660

Ambient remained fused to the Death Stinger well into the next day as the battle raged on. Yet, when the Zoid Eve awakened, the Death Stinger's core began to change. It rapidly expanded, seemingly absorbing Ambient into it. He was never seen again after this incident.
