Rosso lead the Desert Arcobaleno Gang to a small colony, hoping to capture Bang's Organoid, Sieg. Both Bang and Irvine shined up to fight the bandits, and while the Shield Liger didn't have the power to take on the Red Horn itself, it instead used its missiles to destroy the ground covering over the natural aquifers. The following eruption of the aquifer left the Red Horn and Command Wolves disabled.
Rosso once again lead his gang to capture Sieg. This time, however, they took hostages. Though they escaped, the battle commenced. His Red Horn crashed through the Shield Liger's E-Shield, and may have won the fight had they not spotted the Imperial Army approaching, seeking to arrest Rosso. He had no other choice but to give up the chase and disband the Desert Arcobaleno Gang to protect the rest of the group.
Red Horns joined the Imperial Army in invading Kronos Fortress. Unfortunately the base was occupied by sleeper Zoids, and the entire base was detonated to take out a sizable chunk of the invading forces.
Red Horns joined the large force invading New Helic City. This situation ended in a temporary armistice while waiting for a surrender declaration, but Prince Rudolph ordered the Empire to retreat before it came to that.
Red Horns were used by a bandit group who'd been terrorizing a nearby town. After taking medicine that was vital for the children in the orphanage, Bang and Irvine invaded the base to get it back. One Red Horn noticed Irvine scaling the cliff wall behind the base with the medicine in hand and nearly killed him with a missile. Fortunately Bang's Blade Liger was able to snatch it out of the air before it could hit.
Seepers, who'd been pursuing Rudolph's group under the assumption he was an 'imposter' chased them into a forest. There he ran into McMahon, who Seepers had quite a history with causing problems for. McMahon's property was protected due to his trade business, which provded food, materials, ammunition, and more to the Imperial Army. He implored Seepers to turn back and leave them be. Reluctantly, he did.
What McMahon neglected to mention was that he was a former love interests of Moonbay, and took the group in when he saw her characteristic red Gustav. Though he harbored them for a short time, Seepers eventually got fed up with having to back down to McMahon. He challenged his immunity, and attacked his property with his Red Horn and Rev Raptor unit. Unfortunately for Seepers, McMahon's property was protected by many a custom Dark Horn, which made quick work of his ground units. Rosso and Viola used their Storm Sworders to take care of the Black Redlers that were attacking from the skies.
It was a Red Horn piloted by Homalev and accompanied by several Rev Raptors that finally made contact with the young crowned prince after his disappearance. Homalev quickly took them back to safety.
Red Horns joined the assault against the evolving Geno Saurer. Though there was a massive bombardment against the evolutionary cocoon, they weren't able to damage it.
Red Horns were depicted among the Zoids who attacked Dan Freiheit's unit after they'd discovered an Organoid capsule. Prozen lead the force, and they had an overwhelming advantage against the few Godos and the one Command Wolf. However, Dan Freiheit's Command Wolf detonated, taking out the entire force.
After Bang Freiheit, injured from his battle against Raven ended up in the Village of Nordens, Rease convinced Seepers to go after him She insisted that Bang was a spy who would discover that he'd been extorting the village for money for all these years, and that he'd reveal his secret if he didn't kill him.
This Dark Horn was taken to the village, accompanied by Rev Raptors. Seepers threatened to destroy the village if they didn't hand him over, even though the villagers had turned him away. When Bang showed up in a stolen Rev Raptor, Seepers and his units battled the raptor until it was disabled. Even so, the villagers gathered around Bang's Zoid, insisting they'd protect him. Seepers, against the judgement of his men, decided he would kill Bang even if it cost the lives of the villagers. He was shot down by Moonbay's Gustav before he could.
A Dark Horn piloted by Karl Schwarz lead the Imperial Army in a stand off against the Republican Army near Red River. When it was discovered that Fire Bridge, a vital location had been taken out, Schwarz called an order to retreat before Republican reinforcements could arrive.
A Dark Horn piloted by Marcus joined Schwarz's force heading into Republican territory. They were confronted by the Gojulas, which easily devastated their group. Schwarz ordered a retreat, not wanting to risk his unit against the unexpected threat.
The Dark Horn was part of the march towards New Helic carried out by Schwarz and Marcus. While their ground troops drew the attention of the Republican Army, the true threat sailed towards the coast in the form of camouflaged battleships, intending to take over New Helic upon landing.
Two Dark Horns patrolled the area around the palace. When two Molgas attacked they went to engage, not realizing that the real threat had already slipped past them. Rosso and Viola kidnapped crowned prince Rudolph then escaped the palace.
Rosso escaping with Rudolph wasn't part of Metternich's plan. His group arranged to pay the ransom themselves if Rosso would turn the prince directly over to them. Something didn't sit right with Rosso, however, and when he ran with the prince, the hunt began.
Brad, a gang leader happened to be the first person to stumble upon the Geno Saurer. He didn't hesitate in the slightest to challenge the Zoid, but was quickly defeated.
After Rudolph was kidnapped by Raven, he was turned over to Metternich, as Raven had no further use of him. Bang managed to snatch him away from the murderous group, who pursued them in their Dark Horns. At first Irvine distracted them, but when they eventually caught up, they cornered Bang and Rudolph. Luckily, Irvine had been in pursuit. His Command Wolf fired a shot right through the middle of the Dark Horn's side, disabling it long enough for them to escape.
While they were stuck repairing their Dark Horns, Metternich's group was attacked by the mercenary, Stinger. He used a poison gas to disable the group, then pressured them into allowing him in on their deal with the Empire. Stinger would take a 70% cut, and handle Rudolph himself. He had two of the group's Dark Horns follow him through the desert, pretending to be running for his life. This fooled Moonbay into taking him in, thinking she was protecting him.
After Denis had Stinger's Guysack, which he'd been loaned stolen by Bang Freiheit, Rot ended up having to fight the Zoid. He struggled to keep up with its ability to burrow underground, and was eventually tipped over. After Bang reached the main group and tried to save them, Metternich intervened with his own Dark Horn. He threw the Guysack back, and when it landed, Stinger emerged in a custom Saber Tiger that he promptly used to destroy his own Guysack to take care of the problem. Metternich chose to retreat after the appearance of the Blade Liger.
Several Dark Horns accompanied Lt. Hardin and her custom Iron Kong. She'd been instructed not to allow any 'interruptions' during Prozen's coronation, and took it upon herself to try to destroy him no matter the cost to her own men. In the end they failed to do so.
Dark Horns accompanied Karl Schwarz and his Iron Kong during their investigation of the Holciard Weapons Plant. They'd received a distress signal that then went silent, and had been unable to establish contact with the base since. Karl and his group also went silent after going there, taken control of by Rease. The Dark Horns didn't feature in these battles, but were present outside the base.
Dark Horns joined the assault against the evolving Geno Saurer. Though there was a massive bombardment against the evolutionary cocoon, they weren't able to damage it.
Several Dark Horns were deployed to New Helic City as part of Karl Schwarz's unit. They engaged the Death Stinger as soon as it surfaced from the magma tunnels, but even these heavily armed Zoids weren't enough to deal damage.
The Dark Horns of Schwarz's unit would appear once more on the deck of the Ultra Saurus, fending off the attacking Helcats from Hiltz's forces.
When the Ultimate Death Saurer reawakened, it was attacked by the full force of the Empire. Dark Horns and Saber Tigers formed many of the troops, but none of them were able to break through the Death Saurer's armor. It simply walked right past them, not even regarding them as a threat.
This Dark Horn was stationed at an Imperial Army base. The base was eventually attacked when an unmanned Redler was driven into the center. In the subsequent chaos, Raven climbed into the cockpit of this Zoid and turned it against the base inhabitants. He easily dealt with the Iron Kongs, then took on Bang and Thoma. Even after Thoma shot off the Vulcans and Bang sliced through the leg, leaving the Dark Horn immobilized, Raven picked up the Vulcan and turned the weapon against them while holding it in the Dark Horn's jaws. Eventually, he opened the cockpit to get a look at the Blade Liger, and when bang reciprocated, showing that it was truly him, Raven snapped out of his trance. He called for Shadow and escaped.
When Seepers brought his military unit consisting of Rev Raptors and his own Red Horn to McMahon's mansion, intent on getting him to surrender Rudolph's group, McMahon didn't respond kindly. He first ordered Seepers out of his home, and when his Zoids still threatened them, he called upon his own Dark Horns. These unique variants were stored in circular underground hangars that spun upwards at the sound of the classical music booming from his loudspeakers. They made quick work of Seeper's Zoids from their platforms.
